The Clinic Founder:

The Founder and Clinical Director of Professional Psychological Services, Sylvana Farrugia Mizzi is a Senior Clinical & Child Psychologist with over 22 years of experience, who holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) with a High Distinction Honors from the University of Malta and a Clinical Masters of Psychology with Distinction, from Macquarie University in New South Wales, Australia.

Our Clinic:

Professional Psychological Services is an extremely dedicated Private Practice operating in the Western Suburbs of Sydney since 2005. Professional Psychological Services operates from 3 welcoming clinics, two of which are located in St Marys and one in Marayong. 

 We cater for the specific needs of our clients:

• a friendly environment in our specific Child and Family Clinic

• a purposefully set up Group Therapy Clinic

• the Main Psychology Clinic catering for all Individual and Couple Therapy

At Professional Psychological Services we understand and appreciate that humans are complex and experience a variety of different needs. Hence, Professional Psychological Services is proud to offer our clients an eclectic team of professionals, including Clinical Psychologists, Consultant Psychologists, Registered Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Behaviour Therapists and Social Workers as well as Provisional Psychologists and Therapists. Together we can assist you with all your psychological and your psychosocial needs without the inconvenience of being referred elsewhere. 

Our Team of Therapists:

What makes our professional team at Professional Psychological Services extra special is the fact that we all have different cultural and religious backgrounds, helping us to speak and understand different languages, appreciate different religious beliefs and experience in working with different cultural expectations and values.  Our Therapists' extensive diverse experience allows for a unique understanding off all communities including the LGBTQIA+. Additionally, clients can choose to work with either a male or female therapist.

All the Therapists at Professional Psychological Services have impressive qualifications and extended experience in working with people with various mental health issues and psychosocial difficulties. Our work experiences are various, ranging from working in NGOs, Government Organizations, Hospitals - Inpatient and Outpatient, Community Services, School Settings, Court Systems, Child and Family Services, Drug and Alcohol Services and Private Settings. We all endeavor to provide the highest quality of professional services to ALL of our clients and our priority is always the duty of care for our clients.

Our Admin Team: 

Professional Psychological Services is so proud to have such a wonderful team of receptionists, admin and accounts administrators working with us. Together, under the direction and guidance of our caring and helpful Practice Manager Becky Martin we offer an extremely welcoming experience to connect with our clinic and team of therapists, whether it is by phone, email or walk in.
